Tawny Owls have thought about journeys all round the world and celebrated International Day, where we learnt about different countries and cultures - and the music they play there!
We have been exploring different journeys and the transport that we use to get to different places. We have used wheels in different ways as well as using our imagination to go on fantasy journeys on a magic carpet or even a hot air balloon!
We read Rosie's Walk and went on our own journey across the school playground, showing where Rosie and the fox went along their way.
We were fabulous during our class assembly all about dragons and St George! We retold the story as well as learning a poem and a song - and our grown ups joined us in the classroom afterwads to look at our brilliant dragons learning and share a dragon biscuit with us.
We had great fun on Dragon Day, hunting for dragons around the school. We were all dressed up as dragons, knights or princesses. Look at the dragon eggs we found - and lots of other clues that friendly dragons had been here!
Tawny Owls have loved our chocolate topic so far! On Willy Wonka Day we had the chance to help out the Oompa Loompas by creating a brand new type of chocolate – we even made the packaging that would go with it.
We really enjoyed this as we worked in pairs with some of the bigger children in school. Max and his partner from Snowy Owls were judged the winners by Mrs Sheppard for their Tummy Tickler chocolate – we were very proud of them both!
We have started learning all about where chocolate comes from and what rainforests are like.
We are also balancing all the chocolate out by thinking about how we can have a healthy balanced diet and make good choices about our food!
This week we have been learning all about rainforests. We looked at the different plants and trees that grow there, and all the wildlife you can find.
Our outside role play area is for the Rainforest Explorers to hunt and track down different wildlife!
We worked in pairs to make a mini rainforest in a shoebox – look at our lovely work, with such attention to detail for the vines, trees and even waterfalls!
We used lots of different media and materials, look how creative we have been!
